Commissioned portrait
If you are considering having a portrait made of a loved one or yourself, it is driven by the notion that a portrait is a portrayal with more depth than a photograph. A drawn or painted representation captures the character and appearance of the subject. Ideally, it gives the viewer the feeling of entering someone’s presence.
I would like to discuss with you which characteristics define your loved one(s) or significant other and whether these are better expressed in a drawing or a painting: it enables me to create a portrait in the best possible way. While working with a live model generally helps me to grasp the essence of the subject, I’m happy to create a portrait from a photo if that is your preference.
Regarding materials, there are various possibilities: a drawing in charcoal and pastel pencil on colored paper, a drawing in pencil and ink on watercolor paper, or a painted portrait in oil paint on canvas.
